Winter Mountaineering
This 5 day course is aimed at those with no winter experience and for those wanting to refresh their knowledge on walking safely in the Scottish mountains.
This course will cover topics such as movement over snow and ice, using the rope to safeguard the party on steep ground, weather awarness and route planning. We will concentrate on a progression of winter skills so that you are confident to tackle the Scottish mountains in winter.
We can incorporate this into various mountain journeys such as Ring of Steall in the Mamores and the Carn Mor Dearg arete on Ben Nevis.
