About Us

We started as a very small "one man band" business in 2000 offering guided walks in the Lake District . Stone Adventures found that their enthusiastic approach to the outdoors was providing costumers with satisfying experiences in the mountains.

We aim not only to provide you with an enjoyable time, but also a chance to experience the outdoors with someone who is very passionate and knowledgeable about their environment.

All our instructors are professionally qualified and members of professional associations giving them public liability insurance. They are extremely enthusiastic about the outdoors and are very experienced in the areas that they work in.

Below is some information on some of the instructors who work for us. I hope you gain as much enjoyment from the mountains as we have been so fortunate to have.

Will Stone. I came up with this idea in Cumbria while studying at University for my Outdoor Studies BSc. I decided it would be great to do a job that you really and truly enjoy and are passionate about. So, here it is and here I am. I hold the summer, winter and international mountain leaders award and am a member of their Carnet the Union of International Mountain Leaders. I am also a member of the Association of Mountain Instructors.
Andrea Williams. After 4 years at various outdoor education centres I moved to Bangor to study to become a teacher of outdoor education. I feel I am in a very fortunate position to share with others what I have been so lucky to experience myself. I hold an Outdoor Studies BSc as well as a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Outdoor Activities. I also hold a mountain leader certificate.
